QA&P General Offices
Quanah, Texas, January, 1978

QA&P Quanah station
Designed by C. H. Page & Brothers of Austin, Texas, the mission style QA&P office building was occupied January 5, 1910. The $22,519 structure's upper floor contained the railroad's management and engineering offices while the first floor held the passenger station. Located on Mercer Street, it was adjacent to the company's freight house, while the Wells Fargo Express Company and the Fort Worth & Denver City station were nearby. Electricity generated at the roundhouse a few blocks to the west lighted the station and freight house.
I visited Quanah again in October, 2005 while railfanning the BNSF Red River Valley Sub-division and couldn't resist a re-visit to the station.
