Designed by C. H. Page & Brothers of Austin, Texas, the mission style QA&P
office building was occupied January 5, 1910. The $22,519 structure's upper floor contained
the railroad's management and engineering offices while the first floor held the passenger station.
Located on Mercer Street, it was adjacent to the company's freight house, while the Wells Fargo
Express Company and the Fort Worth & Denver City station were nearby. Electricity generated at
the roundhouse a few blocks to the west lighted the station and freight house. |
