Cisco MKT Freight House
Yes, once upon a time the Katy did make a foray into West Texas as evidenced here on the branch from Waco to Rotan. Originally built as the Texas Central Railroad the line carried nicknames like the "Tin Can", "Lone Star Line", and even the "Great Daylight Route." In 1914 it was leased to the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railway Company of Texas and became commonly known as the "Peanut Line."

By the time my brother and I passed this way in 1980 the line had been a nothing but a memory for 13 years.
