The temporary loss of the CSX Annacostia River bridge gave railfans a unique opportunity as re-routes ran over NS trackage. I devoted part of a weekend capturing the heightened traffic along the Hagerstown District.

We caught 105 again on the high bridge at Overall Run (albeit on the wrongly lit side) at 1:49pm.
Then a bit farther we saw it meet a Northbound 202 at Vaughan, 2:20pm.

12R silhouetted against the fading light at Audley, VA, 5:51pm.

The next day I decided to explore the area around Lynchburg, VA and it was an unproductive day photographically since I was unfamiliar with the area there. I did catch #100 (CSX re-route) Northbound on the double-track near Arrington, VA.
