211 Heading onto the B-Line.

Riverton, VA
4:27pm

203 Southbound in the
waning afternoon light.

Ashby, VA
5:39pm

202 Northbound past the Acorn Hill signal.

Bentonville, VA
10:30am
November 11, 2006

We drove ahead of 202 and got to Ashby where a Southbound 11R was to take the siding for him. The noise of 202 approaching allowed 11R to literally sneak up behind us.
Half an hour later a Northbound 227
passed as 11R continued to wait.

No skill on my part here -- catching the
crews' wave was pure serendipity!

37Q Southbound through Boyce, VA, 2:22pm

16T Northbound through Shenandoah Junction, WV at 3:33pm.

Loaded coke train K375 heading West into the sun's last rays.

Shenandoah Junction, WV

I was busy setting up for this night shot and missed the train's symbol.

Boyce, VA
9:17pm
November 11, 2006

By the time 203 passed,
light rain had begun to fall

11:26pm

38Q was following closely but the rain really began to come down so I backed up to the protection of the trees

11:41pm

The last shot I took before heading home was of a Southbound 213. The rain finally forced me to the protection of the station's eaves for this 60 second exposure.
