Over the years I've visited Harper's Ferry many times to watch trains, hike the trails, or just play tourist in the historic town. | |
The cliffs above the railroad, known as Maryland Heights, have a reputation for poor, loose rock, while the bottom seems overgrown with vegetation. This and the lack of any real beta had kept me away until early this fall. | |
The rock did occasionally break free and the sound of trains sometimes made communication difficult but nevertheless it was fun climbing. | |
